I was recently given an exquisite stein by my father, but we don't know much about it. It stands 18 inches tall, with a pewter lid. It depicts a genlteman on horseback (possible a soldier?) with a castle in the background. On one side the words "Gin klager ze cher ftecht Rih Fein," and on the other "Den Schlnflel Frub Morgeus Eiu". The bottom is stamped "Mettlach Geschutzt" and No. 154927. There are two other markings, but I can't quite make them out. Can anyone tell me how old it is, where in Germany it was made etc. I guess the value, too, however I will never sell it because it is a treasured gift. Thanks for the help!
