I'm curious what other naval "regimental" collectors might have discovered regarding the accuracy of ships represented on stein bodies. Pottery navals seem to be a little less detailed when it comes to the ship itself whereas porcelain steins seem to illustrated a good sideview of a ship. The few I have appear accurate but my most recent purchase shows a larger ship (3-funnels) than the SMS Pelikan the man served on (a single funnel ship, a mine ship). Likely, stein makers were just not that accurate but that's my question. Comments anyone? Please feel free to reach me direct: swords@usroute66.net and also here for others to read. Thanks! Ron
