Hello! We have a very small stoneware stein and we are very interested in finding out its approximate age and maker. It is only about 5" tall (including the lid), 2.5" in diameter, and it holds about 6 oz. On the front is the word Prosit in relief. There are two raised relief frieze bands, and some inset green foliage patterns. It appears to have been hand-thrown, as you can see the string marks on the base when it was removed from the potter's wheel. The lid appears to be pewter and is attached with an open 3 ring hinge. The pewter is tarnished on the outside, and shiny on the inside. There are no maker's marks anywhere that we could find. Here are links to several pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated! http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3079.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3080.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3081.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3082.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3083.JPG http://members.sparedollar.com/libertyhill/IMG_3084.JPG
