Becky — You don't really need someone else to solve this problem for you. The best way to deal with a loose strap it is to place the strap where it belongs and then put a drop or two of super glue between the pewter and the handle. The alternative is to repour the strap, which would be substantially more expensive, but no more effective. - fjl
