The piece is not a fake (i.e., made with the intent to deceive), although it could be represented in a deceptive manner. I don't believe it is a reproduction of an earlier piece, being instead "made in the style of". Those things aside, I made no comment yesterday about the words "rare" and "expensive". Although I would not use those words if I were selling this stein, I view them as subjective marketing terms, and in the experience of the seller/owner, they may be perfectly appropriate. Most buyers will quickly get past them.
