I didn't see the D&B piece at that site, it may have been sold. It is possible that there was still some cobalt in inventory at this factory. All the battles listed on the stein were early in the war, suggesting the stein was made no sooner than late 1914. Herr Thewalt was the one that told me about the use of green paint, but he did not state a date. The Krupp works produced a lot of arms for the war, including "Big Bertha,' which made have been used in these battles. It was a 420MM howitzer, developed by 1914, that was named after Bertha Krupp, who became the owner in 1902 at age 16. The cannon shown on the stein, however, is shown as 42cm. Since the stein doesn't specifically mention the war, it struck me as something made after WWI. Ron
