"Die Neue Ära" indicates that Wick-Werke came into being in 1912, although they used different marks at that time. Les Hopper's "Beer Stein Marks" seems to indicate that the W inside a W mark came into use in 1960, but I am not aware of other source for this information. This piece would not have been made openly post WW II for the reasons noted (i.e., it is not a reproduction). It is either original to WW II, or made surreptitiously with fraudulent intent. Anyone who decides to produce a fraud would not give second thought to the illegalities of the swastika in post WW II Germany.
