I don't think this stein is a reproduction or a fraud. I think that it was made prior to the end of WW2 by Wick Werke. I'm sure Wick Werke wouldn't make the stein after WW2 due to the regulations regarding the swastika and the political outrage that it would develop. That leaves the possibilty of fraud. It would be much to difficult to obtain the stein blanks, develop the necessary transfers with swastika's, affix them, glaze, and fire the stein. Then the lid would have to be cast with the swastika on the helmet by some pewterer. All that work for what?--a couple of hundred dollars back in the 1960's. I don't think so! A better explaination would be that Wick Werke was using the W inside the W mark prior to the 1960's and the stein is an original WW2 military stein! Just my opinion.
