Regarding the terminology, be wary of the term "mint." One might think this meant "perfect", but usually it means "in the same condition as it left the factory", a definition which allows for a variety of defects, usually minor but defects, nonetheless. Sometimes these defects are called out - "factory firing line at the handle attachment, mint" - other times they are just ignored and left for the buyer to discover. Perhaps the term "perfect" should be used when describing a stein which in every way is just as it was intended to be by the designer and the pottery workers - no defects, no flaws, none better.
