Perhaps it is lucky you didn't get it. I have seen this lid on steins offered at least three times over the past six months or so. This is a modern stein by BMF and has little collector value. If you look closely at the pewter fittings you can see that they snap together and are not poured as they normally would and should be. You can find many similar pieces by searching for BMF on e-Bay.
