Since this came directly from Germany I would not think they could produce a fake seeings how anything with these symbols are illegal there? That was a question not a statement. Here is a link to some more pics with a pic of the inside of the lid with the stamped makers mark. It says "ZINN" with the picture of some weight scales. I hope maybe this will help.
