I have three PUGs which I believe were made by Bauscher Weiden sometime between 1947 - 1957, and have Karl Rau's stamp mark on the bottom, as well as "US Zone" on the bottom, all applied before being glazed. Does anyone have any information on Bauscher Weiden? I've been to Bauscher's website and was informed that they did make steins in that time period and that Karl Rau did work for them at that time, but did not have any further information since "Due to the company being relocated from Kronach to Staffelstein in 1957 lots of old literature and information was lost as at (sic) that time, people did not care to (sic) much about the history of the company, ... The location of Kronach as manufacturing site makes me wonder why "US Zone" is stamped on the bottom (unfortunately my knowledge of post WWII Germany is not that good), I only thought Berlin products would have such a mark. I am interested in learning more about Karl Rau, and as yet have not come up with any positive hits on the web, nor have I benn able to locate the book: Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain: 1710 to the Present. Any other help there? Thanks, Mark
