A number of years ago, I received an older glass stein as a gift. I would like any help that can be had in determining the age and origin of this piece. The stein is of clear glass, there are air bubbles and impurities in the glass. There are two seams, one running through the handle, the other down the opposite. The seam is not on the inside of the glass, nor does it run across the bottom. There is what appears to be a pontle mark on the bottom of the glass on the inside. The bottom of the glass shows much wear. The only marking on the glass itself is /~~~/ 0.5L. The pewter looks to have been made with lead. The outer surfaces are oxidized a dark almost black color, the under side of the lid is still some what shiny. The lid has an open five-ring hinge and appears to have been assembled from four cast pieces. The mark inside the lid is incomplete, what I can make out of it is, "I" or "L" "MOR" over "MUCHEN" inside an oval ring. I was unable to get a clear photo of this mark. Links to the photo's I could get; [img]http://demented-one.org:8080/mead/glasses/stein00.JPGhttp://demented-one.org:8080/mead/glasses/stein01.JPGhttp://demented-one.org:8080/mead/glasses/stein02.JPGhttp://demented-one.org:8080/mead/glasses/stein03.JPG[/img Thank's, Anthony
