Jeff, I can't tell you much about your stein as I don't have access to a Gerz catalog. The incised mark indicates it was probably from the first quarter of the 20th century, but I can't read the wording under the mark. By the height of the stein, it is probably has a capacity of more than one liter. Relief pottery steins, such as this, are not that popular among collectors. Consequently, the value will not be that great that you need special insurance. Most insurance policies only require riders for valuable antiques when they are over $500. You might try searching eBay periodlcally for this stein to see if someone has more information to offer. The scene looks fairly typical, so I don't imagine it will be of significance. Ron
