This is a Bavarian Eisenbahn regimental stein. The names on the back are a roster of men who served together. The body was produced by the firm of Reinhold Merkelbach. I believe it is only a half-liter, not a one and a half. If this was your grandfather's stein, his name should appear as part of the decoration, and the dates indicate the years of his service.
