The Waldenburg behive stein reproduction described in the initial question is unrelated to the 1983 edition of Gerz "Limität" Westerwald series cataloged in the Beer Stein Library. The Waldenburg piece is one of several high-quality early stoneware repros made by Gerz in the 1980s, all of which were big ticket items at the time (i.e., $400-$600 in wooden boxs). I haven't seen one sold lately, but my guess is that, in the original box, it would currently fetch a price of around $200 on eBay.
