I recently purchased an old stein from Germany and unfortunately when it arrived in States it was broken. I have gone to my post office to recover costs and they tell me the claim must be made in Germany. The sender has gone twice to his post office and they say my postoffice must pay damages. His post hotline says all postoffices in the world have an agreement that the receiving postoffice must pay. The item was insured. Anyone with knowledge of this type of situation? Thanks in advance.
