Thank you Marc for that information. Like Walt, I also gave up on a refund on a damaged stein shipped from Germany. It was poorly packed in used bubble wrap with a handful of peanuts in a shoebox. After many emails and a trip to our P.O determined I had no hope for recovery of the money. It was an old faience stein and all that remians is the footring and lid. The USPS and UPS are not that helpful in damaged items either. So I guess the moral of the story is when purchasing anything fragile be sure of who you are dealing with. I am convinced that spending the extra money for quick shipping results in fewer hands touching the box limiting opportunity for damage at those hands.
