Hi Jake, The seller really isn't dishonest, just greedy. He isn't making an attempt to be sneaky about his shipping price and you have the option of bidding or not. Besides the stein isn't very old in the first place. The engraving style is modern and the stein is probably no more than 30 years old. I know the pewter appears to be old, dark on the outside and bright on the inside, but that would be easy to do. You can find something much better.
