Lee, The W. Germany mark means it was manufactured between 1949 and 1990, thus it does not qualify as an antique, but rather is considered a contemporary stein. The mark is that of Simon Peter Gerz, which went bankrupt in 1990 and is no longer in business. However, the name was bought by Domex, and they use the trademark and name (they also started another company with the Gerz name) for marketing purposes. The bodies of the new Gerz steins are made in China with final assembly in Germany (attaching the lid and final shipment). This is considered a souvenir type of stein (mass produced with a low price) and is not highly collectible and of nominal value. I couldn't see much of the detail on the stein, so I don't know what it might represent. I hope this helps. Ron
