Geof, Walter Mück has a paperback book, Bierkrüge bayerischer Brauereien, published in 1985 in Germany. It is mostly photos of Munich breweries. It covers the period 1890 to 1960. You will have to search old book stores on line to find one. Here is a list of web sites featuring brewery steins: 1. http://www.herold-neupert.de/bmuenchner.htm 2. http://people.freenet.de/thomasfn/steins.htm 3. http://www.brauwesen-historisch.de/Kruge.html 4. http://www.bierkrugsammler.de/ 5. http://www.ratnaroc.de/hass/index.html As far as quality and price, you will have to review auction sites or catalogs. Gary Kirsner (see Links section) has several of his old catalogs on-line that you can review for prices. Since brewery steins were meant to be used, it will be difficult to find one in mint condition. These types of steins are more popular in Germany, so you might want to cultivate some friendships over there to obtain the information you seek. Ron
