I have an old musical stein from my grandparents. I know very little about steins. The only markings on it are 0.5l on the left side of the handle and 1003 on the side of the stein under the handle. Your hand would pass over the 1003 when gripping the stein handle. It has the phrase "auf der alm da gibt's koa sund" on a banner starting at the base of a tree on the left side of the handle and finishing on the right side, also at the base of a tree. A man with a green hat and green hose stands behind a woman between the trees. Above "da gibt's koa sund" a house sets back in the distance among pine trees with a dirt trail leading from the house to what looks like a topped tree directly behind a log trough. There is either a shovel blade leaning against the topped tree with the handle in the trough or there is sap pouring out of the tree into the trough. The musical part of the stein is wind-up and I'm assuming it plays "Auf der alm da gibt's Koa Sund", which I have found translates to "on the mountain meadow there is no sin". The hinged lid is probably pewter. Also above "auf der alm" a large house withn smoke coming from it's chimney sits nestled among pine trees and has three boulders on the right side of the house door that lead down to the "auf der alm" banner. The stein appears to be either porcelain or stoneware. The background color is midnight blue. The stein is trimmed in beige and below the main scene is a row of pine cone or strawberry looking designs above a row of sunflower or daisy patterns all in the midnight blue background. Any help in dating this stein, manufacturer or value would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
