Matt, Your stein is from the Royal period and is probably in the $75 to $125 range in mint condition. Sometimes the lids will have a number on it so the owner's stein could be identified when they came to the Hofbrauhaus. These were also sold as souvenirs and would have a certificate. I have one with a certificate that shows it was sold in 1898 (see the March 2004 Stein of the Month section on this site). For information on the Hofbrauhaus, visit http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/ If your stein doesn't have a lid, check for the manufacturer's mark on the bottom. Mine was made by Merkelbach & Wick, so it dates pre-1922. Ron
