I've never seen this mark, either, and I agree with all of John's thoughts. The stamped mark actually reads "W. Wild/Zinngusswarenfabrik/..." Herr Wild was a pewtersmith, and probably did other finishing work as well. I believe I have seen his mark before on a student stein.
