There have been a lot of postings lately regarding HB steins. I have an HB 1L stein produced by Merkelbach & Wick circa 1900-1918 which I have not seen in any auction catalogs or on eBay. The stein is a PUG which has a rendering of the HofBrauHaus on the front with Munchen printed beneath. The heavy pewter lid bears the famous HB logo. My question for you long time collectors is have you seen this before or do I have a relatively rare stein? I mentioned having this stein to the manager of the Hofbrauhaus in 1971 while in the Army.
