I recently purchased a glass stein from Gary Kirsner's auction item #209 a picture of which can be found on his past auction site of March 11. There is a foto of a middle aged couple on the lid with the inscription "Gewidmet von Familie Henogle 7 August 1900." According to Cassell's this appears to translate as "Dedicated from Familie Henogle" but what does this really mean and is this a picture of the familie or the giver? Is this a gift or some sort of memorial? Thanks for any input.
