The shiney light tan (almost yellow) colored glaze used around the top and bottom bands of many steins, is this a low temperature luster glaze? If so, what color? I'm trying to paint a stein and the glazing technique appears to be a combination of high and low fired colors-underglazes (hight temp) and over glazes or "china paints" which are low fired-including all lusters. Any info on contemporary stein painting techniques would be welcome.
