Hi! I posted a message a few days ago and I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me... I have a stein (or mug if you will- no lid) that has a mark imprinted into the clay with the word Germany under the glaze. In what time period were steins/mugs first imprinted with this? I am not up on my history but I know Germany was known as the Weimer Republic before WWI, so would that put this after possibly being made after that? Also besides the obviousness of some reproductions, what tell tale things can I look for to avoid being duped into purchasing something that is not an original?
