For years it has been "common knowledge" that Mathias Girmscheid was the only manufacturer who used "twisted vine" handles. Not so however. There were four other factories that used a twisted vine handle on occasion, J.W. Remy, Marzi-Remy, Reinhold Hanke and A. J. Thewalt.
