They don't appear very often. I very rarely see it appear on eBay, and generally not in good condition. The prices I quoted were based on professional Stein Auctions. In October, 2005 the Gary Kirsner Auction had one in "mint" condition which sold for $314.00 plus insured shipping. In June, 2006 the Andre Ammelounx auction had another one in "mint" condition which sold for $374.00 plus insured shipping. The Gary Kirsner Auction can be seen online at: http://www.garykirsnerauctions.com/ then click on "past auction catalogs" then October 29th, 2005 and look at lot #131. In the Kirsner auction the pre auction estimated range for the stein was $250-350, and in the Ammelounx auction, the estimate was $300-500. Ultimately, you didn't overpay unless you're girlfriend is not happy with the gift. If she is happy, fine - if she is VERY happy, consider it money well spent!
