I thought it would be a nice touch if for our next family gathering, each of the five brothers had their own stein to drink from. The name written on the plastic cup with a sharpy pen seems to lack something. So - I bought 5 steins off of eBay, looking for cheap price and something that caught my eye. Now I'm wondering what I have. Two of the five have some marking on them and I was hoping someone could offer some information on them. When removed, the bottom marking are show in bottom1.jpg. I interpret the mark to be "Marzi and Remy", post 1964. I am curious about the gold strip that appears to be below the glazing. Does this have significance? Before I start using these and putting them in the dish-washer (hope that doesn't get me banned from the site), thought I better find out if there was more to them than I know.
