I recently purchased a GERZ (smaller) stein with the triangular (incised) mark. What caught my attention was the word 'foreign' (likewise incised) just next to the mark. Was 'foreign' used in place of Germany or West Germany at some point? In any case, why not just indicate Germany I wonder? Any help available? THANKS!
