Many steins, especially cobalt blue centers, have a gold or peachy irridescent band at the top and bottom. Is this the same as carnival glass? I also collect glass insulators and the carnival coating was originally created as a electoconductive barrier (for lack of a better word) before later being applied to glass for decoration. Was this later applied to steins because of it's beauty?
