Craig,I can not help you in this area of interest,But if you want someone to connect your lid to a stein body click on SCI Home page then click on Links and then scroll down to David harr,He restores lids but he might be able to help with a body for your lid or may know someone that might be able to help.Someone else will half to help you about the history.David
