Hi Everyone, It's been quite a while since I've been here because it's been a while since I have found anything interesting in the way of steins. This weekend I stumbled upon 4 interesting steins that I have not seen before. 2 of the steins were made in Germany for the E.Porter Brewing Co of Joliet IL. Both are marked with an uncolored impressed mark Germany and the number 4, the other is also impressed Germany wit the number 11. Both bottoms are unglazed and both have brown highlights and green backrounds in the center panels. Both are impressed at the rim with "compliments of E. Porter Brewing Joliet. I know that several American Breweries ordered steins from Germany, but I have found no references to what factories provided this service. From the dates on the 2 others that I found I suspect these steins date to the very early 1900's between 1890 - 1910 BTW the 2 others were made by Thuemler in Pittsburg PA for Sehring Brewing in 1907 and 1908. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Karen
