Herzog, Himmler took part in Adolf Hitler's "beer-hall putsch in 1923. If he could enter a beer hall without drinking, he could also own a beer stein without drinking. There was a beer stein shown on the site I listed with an inscription to him. I can't attest to the sources, but I did find other sources that said he enjoyed drinking with his college student association and another that said he avoided drinking for the most part because of stomach pains. Whether or not he drank, he was a Bavarian and it wouldn't be unusual for him to own a beer stein. Ron
