Karen, Here is one that is close to your mug, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-German-1-2-L-Stein-Lid-Lindenwirtin-/140678592799?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c118f91f. I wasn't able to find it in a catalog either. Here is text and information found on Thewalt 431 in The Beer Stein Library, “Keinen Tropfen im Becher mehr und der Beutel schlaff u. leer.” (No more drops in the beaker and the purse is slack and empty.) Text is from the poem “Die Lindenwirtin”, written by Rudolph Baumbach in 1876 and set to music in 1878 by Franz Wilhelm Abt. The poem honors Ännchen Schumacher (1860-1935), perhaps the most famous landlady/tavern keeper in German history and a popular figure with German students. Your second mug is a scene from Trompeter von Säckingen. Ron
