Justin - Thank you for your responses. What you said about the pewter certainly makes sense, however the paint question is still not sinking in with me. There is no yellowing - with the exception of the greens and browns, the paint looks to have literally worn off. It looks to be down to conditions prior to painting to being with. I have no doubt it was not cared for properly before it came to me. It just makes me sick to know this damage could have been prevented in some way. Do you recommend restoration? I'm going to get you all a picture before you answer that particular question. It may not even be worth expending the effort, excepting sentimental reasons, of course. Thanks again, Justin. cft
