Hi All, I have a couple of steins that are beautifully painted, and in a single area of the relief the artist has placed their thumbprint actually in the paint, with no other signs of thumb or fingerprints on the body. I take this to be intentional and the decorator's way of 'signing' the piece, but wondered if any here could comment on the practice. I found this on two separate steins, both interestingly related to hunting but that may be a coincidence. Thanks much!
