Joe, I believe it's German relief made in the last half of the 1800s. Someone might give you a closer date. It is missing its lid. The translation is "Beer halls. We have no hunger but much thirst, much thirst." I probably wouldn't drink out of it, but if you wash it and feel to see it isn't crumbling, why not?
