Walter. Lyn Ayres and myself were having the same conversation only yesterday. My example ebay number 180809551818 (also Stein Marks Unidentified C22) had been sent to me by Ken L. I also own a different stein with this mark. Perhaps the star and the Jug were struck separately. I did forward the possible theory that it might be Steinzeugwerke 1913 -18 when just Gerz & R.M. were partners. However the above ebay number looks much earlier than that. Lyn has said that he will look through SCI's catalogues. This particular mark has been an itch I have not been able to scratch for a long time.
