Troy, The scene was inspired by an 1876 painting entitled “Der Zitherspieler” (The Zither Player) by Franz Defregger (1835-1921). There are slight modifications - a dog should be sitting next to the woman on the left, the gun and pouch should be over the zither player's left shoulder, the zither player's hat should have the feather on the left side of the hat, etc. Marzi & Remy 15050 is closer to the painting although it too has the man's feather on the wrong side. I think these modifications may have been done to avoid infringing copy right laws. Your stein may have been made by M&R, but it is not in the M&R catalog on The Beer Stein Library. Ron
