Good Evening, I have a stein which has a brown glaze and pewter lid. On the front hand painted in an antiquish calligraphy are the words "Freuet euch des Lebens" and on the lid is engraved COL 1762. This stein has been in our family for over 80 years from what I can tell. I would like to know what area it may have come from and if the "1762" is a year or some other identifier. The handle is broken and a piece is has fallen out of it's side (i have all of the pieces)--I doubt it's worth anything and I'm not interested in selling it--I just can't imagine how we it came into our family and from where. Any help would be appreciated.
