I googled the subject matter and it refers to a mineshaft experiment in which they suspended two plumb lines down mine shafts and the lines were farther apart at the bottom than the top suggesting a concave earth--an apparent anomalie. Mining collectors and oddball scientific stuff collectors would go for this.
