Thanks for the reply. The stein just arrived safe and sound and looks great. When I examined the inside of the pewter lid I found it was marked RZ. Dont know what that stands for but it would be nice if it were the mark of a maker of pewter lids from the late 1800's. Anyways Im very pleased "I sold one of the 1733 Brick Base series in a 1/3 litre capacity to upgrade to this 1/2 litre. Thanks again for your help! Al Kuntz
