My brain of daughter just figured out the obvious to me - the hole is to accommodate a lid!!! Now that begs the question, did they originally have a lid or is this in preparation for one? Also, if you look at my ebay listing, please point out any errors I may have made. I mean to mislead no one! Anyway - that's one question down - still need the other 34 or 40 questions answered! :) Thanks again!
