I noticed this stein on ebay as well and was curious as to why it was bringing so much also. I asked the seller if he knew why it was bringing so much and he didn't. He said that two german bidders and one American were driving the price. We speculated that maybe the roster contained a name of significance. He sent us both sides of the roster but no names jumped out as being significant. Oviously this stein is well before Goering's service time, but I wonder if the bidders are misunderstanding, because that part of the roster is not pictured on eBay.
