Thanks Ken,no worries, i looked thru' the site and found the possible artist who worked at the Mettlach factory it's probably Heinrich Schlitt or Kaspar Kogler his mentor. The number 280VB refers to it being not of a certain generic type. No doubt i will find out i am totally wrong, but i find it all so fascinating. All the best David.
