Hello everyone, Maybe you can help me. I have read much of your web site (well done webmaster, et al) and hope I don’t violate too many protocols. I am using the terms “early” and “tankard” but I see they may be wrong according to Reading Room definitions. When I was a teenager in the 1950s, my grandfather went back to Gothenburg, Sweden (where he was born) following a death in his family. He brought back a number of family heirlooms which have since been handed down to me. I would dearly love to know the history, age, or any details at all, of one item in particular which is this tankard. If appropriate, an approximate value would also be nice. My grandfather said the tankard has been in his family for many generations, although this is of little help. Could this perhaps be a Viking tankard? It measures 7 inches tall and has a 6 inch diameter. A rough guess would be that it would hold about 2 quarts or so. As suggested to others in this forum, I have put some pictures on Photobucket and here is the link. http://s1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj540/seagers46/ If this item falls outside the realm of SCI, perhaps you could direct me elsewhere. Your help would be very much appreciated. Kind regards, Bruce
