Justin, That scene appears on many steins, and is often refered to as "Lovers" A check of Girmscheid steins shows 6 different steins with that title in the Beer Stein Library. The Library tries to limit itself (with rare exceptions) to steins from before WW2. The highest mold number appearing on any of those steins is #1039. Your stein has a much higher mold number and that gives reason to assume after WW2 and possibly within the last 20-30 years. Changes in the stein above and below the center scene is not unusual. Sometimes changes are to increase or decrease capacity. Other times simply for artistic variation and to appeal to different potential buyers.
